This website provides information about Montana legislative candidates'
positions on cannabis policy. This includes both medical marijuana and non-medical
adult use policies.
You may browse by district, view 2008 election results,
view 2004 I-148 medical marijuana initiative results, or search by ZIP code or candidate's name.
Candidate pages also include public statements and responses to surveys by Montana NORML,
MMGA, and other cannabis policy organizations. The site is
hosted by Modwest.
Expenses associated with the site, including VoteSmart.org API access, are paid by Montana NORML.
2009 bill vote results include:
- SB-326, which would have improved the medical marijuana program by adding new conditions like PTSD and dysmennorrhea and increased allowable plants and quantities.
- HB-541, which would have reduced the penalties for possession of personal amounts of cannabis from a misdmeanor to a civil infraction.
Neither bill passed.
